Operations Manager

Matthew Mendham joined us in July last year as Production Manager at Forterra’s primary bespoke precast concrete facility in Somercotes, Derbyshire, which employs 65 people and produces more than 200 tonnes of precast concrete products every day.

Before working for Forterra, he had accrued more than eight years of manufacturing experience. Earlier this year, Matthew was promoted to Operations Manager, where his job is to review performance on a daily basis and plan ahead for our materials and labour needs.

“I’ve worked for several manufacturing companies, but this is the first I’ve worked for where I immediately felt that I fitted right in,” said Matthew. “It’s a large firm, but it has a friendly, personal and encouraging feel to it, and the staff here at Somercotes have welcomed me and are great to work with.”
