At Forterra, we nurture our employees towards achieving their career goals, providing them with an innovative and supportive environment to develop their skills alongside industry professionals. If you’re a creative problem solver striving towards a career in IT please apply.
An IT career has never been more relevant – and this development programme can help you get yours off to the best possible start. You’ll spend 12 months in a hands-on IT role, gaining exposure to professional methodologies such as Prince 2, Lean, Agile and ITIL, and enjoying the opportunity to make a real impact on our business.
Your main aim will be to engage with key stakeholders across the organisation, looking for ways to improve business process and then working closely with IT experts to make it happen. We will also look to you to recommend IT toolsets that could benefit our business and to evaluate the potential of future technologies such as virtual reality, augmented reality and virtual assistants.
To ensure you get up to speed as quickly as possible, the internship kicks off with a full induction and we’ll provide you with training on our products and services on an ongoing basis. You’ll also learn by shadowing experts on the job and by taking part in various strategic projects alongside an experienced mentor.
Throughout the year, we will check in regularly on your progress to make sure you’re getting as much out of the experience as possible. Perform impressively and there may well be an opportunity for you to fast-track onto our graduate scheme at the end of your internship.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who has a passion for technology and who wants to develop their all-round IT ability into a fascinating and rewarding career. We’re looking for creative problem-solvers who know how to evaluate and analyse data and who can think laterally as well as literally.
