Group Controller

After qualifying from the University of Leicester in with a First in Economics, and gaining his CIMA qualification, Darren joined the company in 2007 as a Business Analyst.

Over the next eight years there followed internal promotions to Senior Finance Manager and Financial Controller, before Darren
secured the role of Group Controller for Forterra in June 2015.

From a financial perspective there is a great breadth to the analysis he is involved with,
from quarry extraction and core manufacturing, through to the supply chain via distribution channels, and onto the commercial dynamics
of customer and channel segments.

Darren says, “I like the nature of this industry, the tangible nature of our products, and the fact that they can be traced from the source raw materials all the way through to end use. There is a very real feel about our business with products which everyone is familiar with. Also, the people who work for Forterra really seem to share a common goal of driving the business forward and a commitment to that cause.”
