As a direct result of higher input costs, particularly energy prices which have risen significantly, the cost of carbon credits which we are obliged to purchase as part of the European Emissions Trading Scheme, distribution costs, and the cost of specialist fire clays which are in shorter supply, price increases will be applied to our brick and Thermalite products from 2nd January 2019. Aggregate block price increases will be announced in due course.
Whilst we have implemented tight cost control throughout 2018, the scale of these rises, and our inability to influence many of these costs, means it is necessary to apply price increases as follows:
Bricks
London +6.0%
Extruded +8.5%
Eco stock +8.5%
British Standard Specials +8.5
Engineering Bricks By negotiation
Thermalite +7.0%
In addition to these increases, all buff brick products and non-slurried bricks from our Kirton factory will be subject to further increases that will be negotiated separately, as will all special pricing arrangements.
The level of increase will be product specific and will reflect any deviation from our list prices.
Forterra Account Managers will be contacting all customers to discuss their commercial agreement for 2019 and to provide revised price matrices.
